With health care rapidly trending toward wellness-based services, providers such as Drs. Amanda Apfelblat, Don Galovich, and Nicole Poirier are poised to lead the family wellness revolution right here in metro Detroit.
These three doctors of chiropractic have completed extensive postgraduate training in the area of family wellness so that they can offer a variety of sought-after services including innovative care for infants, children, and pregnant women to our community.
Drs. Apfelblat, Galovich, and Poirier are board-certified in pediatrics by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics. They provide chiropractic care, as well as a wide range of innovative options, for the entire family. There are currently only about 200 chiropractors worldwide who are recognized as diplomates in chiropractic pediatrics.
These three doctors actively participate in the International Chiropractic Pediatric Associations Practice-Based Research Network, which conducts clinical and observational research in the course of patient care to improve health care delivery and patient outcomes. Drs. Apfelblat, Galovich, and Poirier have taken part in research that has helped to show the overall safety and efficacy of chiropractic care for children.
Their collaborative work with the ICPA has resulted in research that has brought to light the most common conditions for which parents seek chiropractic care for their children. The studies revealed that ear, nose, and throat conditions including respiratory disorders such as asthma, gastrointestinal problems, musculoskeletal complaints including growing pains, and immune system dysfunction are the most common reasons parents bring their children in for chiropractic care.
Additionally, their efforts have assisted in research that has revealed that chiropractic care throughout pregnancy can relieve and even prevent many of the common discomforts and conditions experienced during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Drs. Apfelblat, Galovich, and Poirier also believe it is important to give back to their communities, and they serve on the board of directors of the Michigan Chiropractic Pediatric Association (mcpakids.org). Dr. Apfelblat also serves as the newly elected Vice President of the state chiropractic association, the Michigan Association of Chiropractors (chiromi.com).
The doctors frequently lecture at community events and to other chiropractic physicians in Michigan regarding the care of pediatric and pregnant patients. They are pleased and honored to be distinguished as three of Detroit’s favorite chiropractors by Hour Detroit magazine
